Serving as the chief editor of the Wenshan Review is like mounting numerous hills of literature with all their narrow, thorny and winding pathways meandering through various terrains of epistemological and aesthetic heights. It is both rewarding and enriching to work with many dedicated editors and talented scholars from different fields, and often, different parts of the world.

It is thus a pleasure and privilege to present this December issue of great thematic diversity, ranging from theories of evolution and rhizome to narratives of trauma, memory and history, from East-West exchange to postcolonial struggles for political and individual identities.
